Help pleaseeee Thank you. 2. Hello, I am sorry for the simplistic nature of these questions, I am totally new to Sharepoint and desperate.
I have a number of issues with Sharepoint 2003, Issues list, if anyone can resolve any one of these I would be indebted. Is there any way to make some fields read only? Display only and not for modification. I want to assign the user name to a issues list field and not allow user to modify it. Auto assign - Is there a way that I can auto-assign a value to a field from another list?
If a user selects a name of an assigner person, I can lookup that assigned person's team from another issue list or from those that have used the site? Issue number visability - I want to make the issue number visible on the form when a user modifies/read it, at the moment I can't seem to get this to work from when using =ID. Is there a way that the Issue ID can be displayed on exit as a message box etc. So that the ID can be noted and recorded manually? Can I take off somehow the related issues field?
Answering any one of these questions will greatly advance my cause. Regards, Gary - Big Max. 3. Hello, I'm having no luck trying to link a contact list within Exchange 2003 with my Sharepoint site. I goto the contact list in sharepoint and click import contacts. I browse my outlook address book and choose public folders. I select the contact folder under public folders I want to add but it will not display or add to the sharepint list?
I have checked the box that say's to display in the address book with the properties of the public contact list. Please help!!!!!
Hello, I would like to know if is it possible to custum Sharepoint task pane in word to fit task list customization. In WSS task list I add custom fields and in Word, when I add a new task (or modify existing) in the task form I dont have new custom fields I add. Hope this is clear enouth. Thanks for your help Regards, Xavier. 5.
I am trying to install CustomAuth on a virtual server that is also running WSS. I have excluded a directory which contains a bespoke login form and a success page. I have configured the INI file appropriately and set permissions on these files appropriately (i.e. Deny IUSR on success page and allow on login form).
The folder is set in ISS to allow anonymus access. The CustomAuth DLL is set as an ISAPI filter and a mapping as instructed, as well as being enabled as a web server extension. However I cannot get this to work. If I do exactly the same in a normal virtual server it works fine, but with a virtal server extended with WSS it just doesn't seem to work. Has anyone got CustomAuth working with WSS? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I designed a sharepoint site with sharepoint designer and then generated the solution with Sharepoint Solution generator. Using Visual studio 2005, I compiled and deployed the solution on the web server successfully.
However I checked at this step the WSS log file and find few errors: w3wp.exe (0x0FA8) 0x12F8 Windows SharePoint Services General 72l8 High VcomCache: Failed to QI for interface IID w3wp.exe (0x0FA8) 0x12F8 Windows SharePoint Services General 72l9 Medium VcomCache: The QI failed, retrying. Trying to customize the solution template I deployed from the SPWeb site I received an 'Unknown Error'. In the LOGS file an exception was generated.Failed to determine definition for features with ID.Failed to determine definition for features with ID.Failed to apply template.
Could someone help me please? I am trying to edit one of the (SharePoint 2007) List's EditForm.aspx in the beta version of Office SharePoint Designer. In FrontPage 2003, all i have to do is to right click on the body of the form and choose 'Customize SharePoint List Form'. The fields and their labels will be shown in a table. In this new version of FrontPage- SharePoint Designer- this option is gone!! Question: How can I 'customerize the SharePoint List Form' using the new designer. I know.NET, so it doesn't matter if the table will be shown up in VS.NET or in the desinger.
ALL I WANT TO SEE IS THE TABLE. Thanks for the help. Alison Balter has written a book titled (see subject). Does anyone know whether this book is going to come out in print, and if so, when? I've found it on-line as an ebook, but not as a hard copy. Unfortunately, the software control policy at work prevents me from downloading the viewer required to view the ebook.
